Volunteer of the Week for February 9th
Essi Akpalu

I am a December 2006 graduate from Worcester State College (WSC). I now hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a Chemistry minor.
I love being busy and I like getting involved in things that are educative to me and beneficial to people around me. I work and school full time and am the vice-President of the Pre-Med/Allied Health Club on campus. I also volunteer at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Emergency Room as a greeter and also at TeenAIDS as a French interpreter.
I heard about Dr. John and TeenAIDS through the Pre-Med/Allied Health club advisor at WSC. The club invited Dr. John to come and speak about his mission and thereon I got involved with some of the TeenAIDS’ activities such as the first webcast ever on World AIDS day. Great experience!
