Internship Description:
TeenAIDS-PeerCorps is a leading non-profit, all-volunteer organization that seeks to reach youth about HIV prevention and is the first and only organization anywhere pioneering public HIV testing to educate youth. We are looking for a young staff member who would be interested in starting asap helping to plan some of our upcoming events including Guinness Book of World Records and public testing. We’re looking for a motivated person, either a college student or adult, who would be interested in helping with event planning. We are hosting multiple events in the upcoming future both here in Hampton Roads and nationwide. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and isn’t afraid to call/contact companies and other businesses to help seek out working partnerships.
Interns will learn leadership skills in events planning as well as becoming a certified AIDS educator and HIV tester (personalized certificate). College interns will receive a letter of recommendation from our Harvard director as well as a great boost to their resume.
This position is for the fall and/ or winter. At least 12 hours per week are required in the office (or whatever extra time is required by your school’s internship regulations). While hours can be arranged around school and paid work, your in-office schedule must be regular and consistent with hours made up for absences.
