Internship Description:
TeenAIDS-PeerCorps (TA-PC) is one of the most respected AIDS prevention non-profits that specifically targets vulnerable teenagers in the U.S. and globally. Founded 20 years ago by a Harvard expert and lecturer, TA-PC is unique because the entire organization, from the very top to its grassroots operations, is run by an all-volunteer staff with a passion for saving young lives. All funds received go directly to efforts educating youth 12 – 22. TeenAIDS is looking for dependable, serious-minded college-age interns for credit or as volunteers, to work part-time on a weekly basis:
We are looking to re-build a vibrant local film production crew out of our Norfolk headquarters. Our previous team produced six TV PSAs, two documentaries for You Tube and worked on other video shoots. Most all of our video is captured on your digital SLR cameras and edited using Premiere or Final Cut Pro – however, other editing software may be used. A weekly planning meeting at the headquarters with the executive director (a graduate of MIT’s film/video section) is required with most editing done at home. Having a laptop with editing software is necessary – access to a video camera is a plus. You need to be a team player and be self-motivated. Your name will appear on the YouTube credits. Knowledge of social media is valued.
All positions require regularly scheduled hours (12-14 per week) with most time needed in our Norfolk, Virginia headquarters during the office hours of 10 am to 4 pm, Monday – Friday. If your location and schedule do not permit this commitment, please do not apply. We are open throughout the year and only closed for major holidays. Interns for academic credit are desired but we will work with any good young people. You will need to bring your own laptop as we are a modest operation with an international audience. The dress attire is casual. Safe parking is available on the little-used street in a residential area of single family houses near the beach.
How to apply
Please send your resume and contact information to TeenAIDS Director Dr. John Chittick at or call the office at 757-352-2055.
